Rebekah grew up in Washington and Idaho, and she came to Utah to study English and editing at Brigham Young University. Her interests vary: like most of her colleagues, she loves to read and write, but she also hikes, rock climbs, knits, sings, dances, and travels whenever her budget permits.
Rebekah has been married for three years and enjoys encouraging her shy dog to try difficult things, like meeting new people instead of running away or staying in the same room as the vacuum.
Facts About Rebekah
Where are you from?
I spent my early childhood near Seattle, but I’m mostly from Boise, Idaho. I’m proud to have potato farmer blood on both sides of my family tree.
Do you consider yourself an extrovert or introvert?
Definitely an introvert. People are wonderful and all, but they’re best enjoyed in small doses.
What is your spirit animal?
I’m going to go with a leopard. Why? Because I like them.
If you could choose your last meal, what would it be?
That’s an incredibly depressing question that I don’t want to think about. However, if I could choose my next meal, I’d probably go with my husband’s excellent tacos.
What band/musical artist could you listen to for hours straight?
I really like musicals, including Hamilton, Into the Woods, Wicked, and Legally Blonde.
What is your favorite (or one of your favorite) fandom(s)?
Like many people my age, I’m fanatically loyal to Harry Potter. Those books changed me growing up.
What is the nicest thing anyone’s done for you?
About a month after I got married, I got sick, and I stayed sick for the next year and a half. My brand-new husband was stuck looking after me, and he did an incredible job. I don’t think I would have finished the last three semesters of college without his help — if I hadn’t had him, I probably would have had to drop out and move home since I really wasn’t capable of taking care of myself. I’ll always be grateful for what he’s done for me.
What is the next item you plan to cross off your bucket list?
My husband and I hope to visit Sweden next year, if all goes according to plan.
Who is your favorite Beatle?
George Harrison, obviously.
What’s your favorite Disney movie?
I love everything about Mulan.
